Royal icing transfers are little candies used as decorative elements on cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. Royal icing is piped onto waxed paper, parchment paper, or a page protector (my favorite). A design template sheet is underneath to act as a template. The shapes or "transfers" are allowed to dry overnight before being peeled off the backing.

The answer is that the royal icing has been mixed too much. Meringue powder (or egg whites) is the 'glue' for the icing to hold its shape and puffiness. The remedy is making sure to use freshly made royal icing with a soft toothpaste consistency. *Note: I have heard you can add in more meringue powder and re-whip it.

Let this dry for about ten minutes or until the royal icing crusts over. Fill the outer sections and let them dry until the sections crust over.
